Nathan Bowen is Director of Public Policy at the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture, which represents the commissioners, secretaries and directors of the state departments of agriculture from all fifty states and four U.S. territories. He directs the Association’s policy activities, with a specific focus on environment and international trade policy.
Previously, Bowen served as Legislative Assistant to a member of the United States House of Representatives and managed a policy portfolio that included agriculture, environment, trade, and financial services policy. Bowen's experience in agriculture policy includes Conference Committee negotiations on the Food, Conservation, and Energy Act of 2008. Bowen also worked extensively on public lands and energy legislation, as well as on matters relating to banking and financial markets.
Bowen graduated from Berry College in Rome, Georgia and is a native of southeastern Colorado.
