NASDA Executive Director Stephen Haterius sent to Sens. Reid and McConnell, in addition to members of the Senate Agriculture and Finance Committees, a letter calling for retroactive extension of the biodiesel tax credit. The tax credit, which expired in December of 2009, has failed to be considered in the Senate this year and may be included in tax legislation vehicles during the lame-duck session of Congress. The expiration of the tax credit has led to job losses in the biodiesel industry. NASDA wrote a similar letter in December 2009, encouraging Senators to extend the tax credit before it expired later that month. The letter can be found on the NADSA website. (Contact: Brad McKinney)
