South Carolina Partners with Lee Brothers Chefs to Promote Local Products

News Date: 06/21/2011

The South Carolina Department of Agriculture (SCDA) and celebrity South Carolinian chefs, The Lee Brothers, have partnered to promote locally grown produce and products.  The "Lee Brother your Supper" campaign encourages consumers to enter a free drawing for the chance to win the grand prize, having a Certified SC meal prepared in person by renowned chefs.  The SCDA Certified South Carolina program is a collaborative effort among producers, processors, wholesalers, retailers and the SCDA to brand South Carolina produce and products.  Currently, agribusiness contributes $34 billion annually to South Carolina's economy and employs more than 200,000 people in the state.

"The Lee Brother Your Supper campaign provides another wonderful opportunity for South Carolinians to demonstrate their support for our local farmers and producers, and we thank the Lee Bros., as well as all of our retail partners, who continue to support our program as we strive to reach our agribusiness goal of $50 billion by 2020," said South Carolina Commissioner of Agriculture, Hugh Weathers.  For more information, click here.
