Meeting on Farm Labor Issues
July 23, 2002
Chicago, Illinois

On July 23, New York Agriculture Commissioner Nathan Rudgers chaired a meeting of the U.S./Mexico Working Group on farm labor issues. The purpose of the meeting was to identify common policy issues that could be addressed by NASDA during the current debate on farm labor and possible actions that the U.S/Mexico Accord Working Group could undertake to ensure an adequate labor supply for U.S. agriculture. The participants heard reports on the current demographics of the U.S. farm workforce and the latest legislative actions in Congress. Reports and minutes from the meeting are posted below.
