Job Opportunity - Indiana Seeks New Dairy Division Director

        The Indiana State Board of Animal Health (BOAH) has an immediate opening for the director of the state's dairy inspection program. The ideal candidate will have excellent communications skills, project management abilities, and a vision for building a team to serve a growing statewide dairy industry while protecting public health.
        Selected candidate will be tasked with leading/managing a team of 26 staff members, most stationed in the field as inspectors. The Director will serve as part of the management team at BOAH, coordinating division activities with others within the agency. This position will require an eye for budget constraints and improving workforce efficiencies.
        The Director will serve as a liaison in communications between BOAH and federal agencies, and various milk production and processing organizations. Efforts will be focused on developing communication channels to build partnerships between industry and the division amidst a changing cultural environment.
        The ideal candidate must have strong leadership and team-building skills, with preference given for those with technical learning abilities. Knowledge of and experience in agriculture, food production or the dairy industry, particularly regulatory issues for farms and processors, as well as public health, is a plus.
        This full-time position, based in Indianapolis, includes health, dental, vision and life insurance benefits, along with retirement and investment savings options. Range of compensation for this position is $40,000 to $108,000.
