Sen. Thad Cochran (R-MS) has exercised his seniority on the Senate Agriculture Committee and has replaced Sen. Pat Roberts (R-KS) as the committee’s Republican Ranking Member. Cochran, who had been the top Republican on the Senate Appropriations Committee, is expected to take a significantly different approach from Roberts on commodity program policy.
