US FISH AND WILDLIFE ANNOUNCES ESA STATUS REVIEW FOR 29 SPECIES

The Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) announced today that it was initiating a status review of 29 species following an environmental advocacy organization’s petition for listing under the Endangered Species Act. FWS found that the petition presented “substantial scientific or commercial information indicating that listing may be warranted.” The petition, filed with FWS by Forest Guardians (now WildEarth Guardians) had requested FWS examine 206 species in the Mountain Prairie Region.
