EPA TO CONVENE SCIENCE PANEL ON ATRAZINE

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced last week that it would convene a Scientific Advisory Panel (SAP) to examine the cancer and non-cancer human health impacts of Atrazine. Atrazine, one of the most widely used agricultural herbicides in the United States, is used on corn, sorghum and cane sugar. EPA’s actions follow press reports in the New York Times and a Natural Resources Defense Council study that claim Atrazine is more dangerous than previously thought.
