CHINA OPENS MARKET TO PORK IMPORTS

News Date November 03, 2009

China has agreed to allow US imports of pork as a result of recent trade discussions between the two nations during the US-China Joint Commission on Commerce and Trade.  The agreement is seen as a success for US pork producers, as China represents one of the largest potential export markets.  USDA announced Wednesday that the average cash price for ham increased $4.84 to $55.69 per hundredweight.  (Contact: Amy Mann)
