NEARLY $310 MILLION AWARDED TO EXPAND BROADBAND ACCESS IN RURAL COMMUNITIES

On Jan. 25, Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack announced the recipients of nearly $310 million for rural broadband projects. Funded by last year's American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (the Recovery Act), these monies will focus on middle mile and last mile projects. In total, the Recovery Act will provide USDA's Rural Utility Service with $2.5 billion to vastly improve broadband access in rural America.
