Sunday evening will be a reception and dinner cruise of Newport Harbor beginning at 5pm. Monday afternoon beginning at approximately 1pm will be a visit and tour of Swiss Village Farm, a historic farm rebuilt in 1998 by Mrs. Dorrance (Dodo) Hamilton, Heiress to the Campbell’s Soup fortune. From there we will visit Newport Vineyards, one of Rhode Island’s premier vineyards and winery for a tour and wine tasting. Afterwards we will travel to Historic Fort Adams to take in a bit of RI’s revolutionary war past and enjoy a sumptuous Rhode Island Clambake at the fort. From there, we will return to the hotel between 8 – 9 pm, and if anybody is up to it, the hospitality room.
Tuesday Morning’s tour will bring us to one of Newport’s famous mansions, “The Breakers”, which was the summer home to the Vanderbilt Family. It is a great example of the “summer cottages” where the rich and famous of a bygone era entertained Newport society.
