NASDA is pleased to welcome Katie McLaughlin as our agriculture policy intern for the spring semester.
Katie McLaughlin of Mifflintown, Pennsylvania is a junior at the Pennsylvania State University majoring in Agricultural Science with minors in Agricultural Communications and International Agriculture. Before joining NASDA, Katie interned with the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture Communications Office and served as a mentor for the Pennsylvania School for Excellence in the Agricultural Sciences at Penn State University.
Katie’s passion for agriculture stems from her agricultural roots, as she and her brother are the seventh generation on her family’s farm. Katie became interested in agricultural policy after serving as a Pennsylvania FFA State Officer, and she hopes to influence sound policy through effective agriculture education. Katie is excited to live in the nation’s capital and recognizes that her time with NASDA will allow her to grow so that she can better serve the agriculture industry.
