NASDA’s USA Pavilion at America’s Food and Beverage Show Off to a Successful Start

The National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA), together with the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Foreign Agricultural Service (USDA), today opened the USA Pavilion at the 20th Annual Food and Beverage Show at the Miami Beach Convention Center. The USA Pavilion, featuring 120 small to large American food and beverage companies, will be open September 26 through 27 from 10:00 – 5:00 PM. NASDA has been organizing the pavilion for more than a decade. According to the USDA, agriculture and agriculture-related industries contributed $835 billion to the U.S. economy in 2014. The USA Pavilion features exhibitors from the Illinois Department of Agriculture, Michigan Department of Agriculture & Rural Development, Puerto Rico, and more.

“Expanding export opportunities for U.S. food and beverage producers is vital to the American economy,” said NASDA CEO Dr. Barbara P. Glenn. “The trading partnerships established at this show are critical tools for the economic success of the U.S. food and agriculture sector. The relationships we have with the USDA and World Trade Center Miami to execute this growing event are critically important to NASDA.”

“This event works extremely well because the audience of Caribbean and Latin American buyers is a perfect fit for our small and medium-sized exhibitors,” said NASDA’s Director of Trade Shows DeWitt Ashby.

The World Trade Center Miami expands the reach of the show well beyond the United States. Exhibitors from over 16 countries, including Argentina, Canada, and the Republic of Korea, are present.

“The long time partnership with the USDA and NASDA has provided invaluable industry knowledge and practices to new companies seeking to import and export their food and beverage related products to the Americas,” said World Trade Center Miami President Charlotte Gallogly.

The 2015 show reported over $179 million in projected and gross sales over the course of two days. More than 50% of USA Pavilion exhibitors reported export sales to a new market.
