The NASS Northern Plains Region held a survey training workshop February 6-8, 2018 to prepare NASDA enumerators for ARMS III data collection. NASDA’s NASS Program Director Charlie Ingram participated in the workshop which included about 50 NASDA enumerators and supervisors and NASS regional and state staff. ARMS is a vital NASS survey which is the only source of detailed financial and resource data on U.S. agriculture. The data is collected by NASDA enumerators on behalf of NASS. Just about every federal policy and program that affects farmers and rural communities is based on information from ARMS. South Dakota Department of Agriculture’s Bob Weyrich addressed the group and explained the importance of ARMS data to farmers, ranchers and other stakeholders.
