USDA/ FAS Egypt Agribusiness Trade Mission Accepting Applications

News Article -

Mission Goal:  The U.S.-Middle East and North Africa ATM seeks to provide U.S. small-and medium-sized enterprise (SME) participants with first-hand market information, access to government decision makers, and one-on-one meetings with business contacts, including potential agents, distributors and partners, so U.S. businesses can position themselves to enter or expand their presence in Arab markets.  It will provide you with an excellent opportunity to learn first-hand about Egyptian markets, and will give you access to business contacts and government decision makers in Egypt’s agricultural industry.

The U.S.-Middle East and North Africa ATM will highlight the following agriculture market sectors: Tree nuts (especially those for processing or bakery ingredients), dried fruits, packaged products, snack items,  dairy products for both retail and bakery ingredients (cheese, butter, cream, and milk), beef and offal products, processed eggs, processed vegetables and pulses, spices (food preparations), wood and wood articles and powered milk.  Others may be considered as the buyer missions for Algeria, Jordan and Lebanon have other priorities.

Mission Scenario: While the ATM will physically take place in Cairo, Egypt, business representatives from Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, and Algeria will participate in targeted, one-on-one meetings with selected U.S. agribusiness participants.  Meetings with government and industry officials from both Egypt and the United States, presentations by public/private sector experts, and site visits will be scheduled during the ATM.

USDA will develop the agenda, facilitate logistics, and cover all on-ground expenses (transportation, interpretation, conference venue, etc.) during the ATM.  Participants maintain responsibility for their travel to/from Cairo, as well as their in-country lodging costs (at pre-negotiated U.S. government rates).
