Gordon Wenk

Biography

Gordon Wenk was appointed Director of the Michigan Department of Agriculture & Rural Development by Governor Rick Snyder on March 5, 2018. 

He has worked more than 35 years at MDARD, most recently as Chief Deputy Director where he had overall administrative management responsibility for all divisions. These programs include animal health, food safety, environmental issues, plant pest concerns, weights and measures, consumer protection, and marketing opportunities.

Gordon is a graduate of Michigan State University with a bachelor of science degree in Natural Resources and Environmental Education.
