Megan was born and raised in South Texas where she participated in 4-H and FFA, showing various animals and participating in FFA judging competitions. She attended Texas A & M University and graduated with a B.S. in Agricultural Journalsim in August 2005. While attending Texas A & M Megan interned at NASDA; an opportunity made available through the Agriculture & Natural Resources Internship Program, which is only offered to students in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
Following graduation, Megan worked at Regency Publishing Group in Houston as an editor of Texas Farm & Ranch Magazine (a farm & ranch real estate magazine) until September 2006. She joined the NASDA staff in October 2006 to assist with the Foreign Agriculture Service (FAS) program, which includes organizing NASDA's USFES pavilion at the FMI show in Las Vegas, the AFF pavilion at the NRA show in Chicago and the US Pavilion at the AFB show in Miami.
