Biography

Bob Ehart joined NASDA in 2003. In his current role as the senior policy and science advisor, Bob assists the NASDA team and members in all areas related to food safety and is the principal investigator for two cooperative agreements with FDA. These agreements assist FDA and the states to implement the FSMA produce safety and the animal food preventive controls rules at the state-level. He worked on APHIS issues and then became director of public policy for NASDA before moving into his current position in 2012. Bob previously founded an environmental monitoring firm focused on identifying and mitigating on-farm risk, was a technical and subsequently an appointed agricultural official with the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection. Prior to that, he was an extension education specialist at North Dakota State University.
