The Poultry and Animal Health Section of the Delaware Department of Agriculture is seeking applicants for a State Veterinarian Medical Officer. Applications are due by July 7, 2022.

The position is responsible for enforcement of state laws that prevent the spread of contagious diseases in livestock and poultry. Oversees all agricultural animal health programs and the investigation of animal welfare complaints for agricultural species. Responsible for improvement of animal disease traceability and monitoring events and auctions in Delaware where animals may be sold into interstate movement. A critical role is to maintain strong relationships and open communication with the commercial poultry industry, practicing veterinarians and other equine and livestock stakeholders.
