The Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources is accepting resumes and applications for the position of Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program ARPA Grant Contractor. MDAR was awarded a FY23-24 Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Grant to implement initiatives to maintain and improve supply chain resiliency, and to improve the nutrition security of eligible participants. SFMNP plays a critical role in Massachusetts’ nutrition assistance safety net by providing participants the ability to purchase fresh, unprepared, locally grown fruits, vegetables, herbs, and honey through local farmers’ markets and farmstands. In addition, the SFMNP is invaluable in increasing the consumption of Massgrown foods by expanding, developing, or aiding in the expansion of farmers’ markets and farmstands. The SFMNP ARPA Grant Contractor will manage and oversee the day-to-day aspects of the grant program in collaboration with MDAR’s Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program Manager. The contract will expire 9/30/2024.
