The Minnesota Board of Animal Health is hiring its next State Veterinarian. The State of Minnesota offers a great benefits package including a pension, 11 paid holidays annually, paid parental leave, low-cost health insurance and paid vacation and sick leave to name a few. The purpose of the Board of Animal Health is to protect the health of the domestic animals of the state and to be part of the team that protects the public health. This position is responsible for the overall management of the Board of Animal Health and reports to a six-member citizen Board. This position represents Minnesota as the State Veterinarian and is a liaison with Minnesota citizens, animal owners, veterinarians, organizations that represent the livestock/poultry industry, other state agencies, the Governor’s office, the Legislature, and the University of Minnesota. This position also represents the State of Minnesota regarding animal health issues when dealing with other states.
