Press Release –
WASHINGTON, District of Columbia
National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA) President and North Dakota Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring, Indiana Director of Agriculture Bruce Kettler, and CEO Dr. Barbara P. Glenn attended today’s signing of the China Phase One Agreement hosted by U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese Vice Premier Liu He at the White House. Commissioner Goehring praised the progress towards expanded market opportunities for U.S. farmers and ranchers.
“Any progress on removing trade barriers for our farmers is good news. The Phase One agreement takes critical steps towards addressing the unjustified trade barriers that U.S. farmers and ranchers have faced in China for far too long. NASDA looks forward to reviewing the text in full detail and working with the Administration to ensure China delivers on their commitments.”
NASDA represents the elected and appointed commissioners, secretaries, and directors of the departments of agriculture in all fifty states and four U.S. territories. NASDA grows and enhances agriculture by forging partnerships and creating consensus to achieve sound policy outcomes between state departments of agriculture, the federal government, and stakeholders.
