In a joint letter signed by agricultural organizations and agri-business companies, NASDA employed its support for the prompt confirmation of Gregg Doud as Chief Agricultural Negotiator within the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR). The letter underscored the importance of U.S. food and agricultural exports, which created over $193 billion in additional U.S. economic activity in 2016 and continues to support more than 43 million jobs. Following the letter, Senator Flake removed the hold on Doud, allowing the confirmation process to move forward. As NASDA advocates for trade agreements that expand market access and set robust rules for international trade, NASDA recognizes that the confirmation of Doud will be crucial for the success of the nation’s economy.
