Oklahoma Agriculture Secretary Jim Reece recently hosted NASDA and NASS team members to tour the newly renovated NASS Oklahoma Data Collection Center (DCC) which is housed in the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The Oklahoma DCC is one of 5 NASS Data Collection Centers (DCCs) and employs about 60 part-time NASDA phone enumerators who collect agricultural survey data on behalf of NASS from farmers and ranchers in the region and across the country.
The team included NASS Associate Administrator Renee Picanso, NASS State Statistician Wil Hundl, DCC Coordinator Lance Daughterty, and NASDA’s NASS Program Director Charlie Ingram. The group participated in 2 enumerator survey training sessions and provided updates on NASS and NASDA activities. In addition, Renee Picanso and Charlie Ingram had the opportunity to meet with Secretary Reece to discuss the NASS-NASDA cooperative agreement and data collection activities in the state.
