Originally from Northern California, Sara was always active in youth agriculture leadership organizations. Growing up, Sara showed pigs and served as an FFA Regional Officer for the Central Valley. She began her college career at Modesto Junior College, where she was selected to be a part of the West Campus Internship Program and worked as a herdsman on their Swine Unit.
She then attended Texas A&M University, studying animal science with an emphasis in meat science and technology. While at Texas A&M, Sara was on the Intercollegiate Meats Judging Team and competed at numerous national competitions competing against other universities nationwide.
While her time at Texas A&M was not limited to her devotion to the Meats Judging Team, Sara was selected to be a part of the Agriculture and Natural Resource Policy Program (ANRP) where her passion for Agriculture Policy developed. She interned for Congressman Pete Sessions her first summer in Washington, DC and was fortunate enough to be asked back the following summer as Coordinator of his youth constituent program, Pete Sessions Leadership and Growth Program (PSLGP).
Previously, Sara also worked in client implementation for Yardi Systems, inc. before moving back to DC to embark on her new journey with NASDA.
