What: The country delegation leads for the 2020 Tri-National Agricultural Accord (Accord) will be available to press following the signing of the communique for the Accord. The delegation leads are as follows:

  • U.S.: Kentucky Commissioner of Agriculture Ryan Quarles, President, National Association of State Departments of Agriculture
  • Canada: Minister Blaine Pedersen, Ministry of Agriculture and Resource Development, Manitoba
  • Mexico: Secretary Carlos Muñiz Rodríguez, Hidalgo Ministry of Agricultural Development, President of the Mexican Association of Secretaries of Agricultural Development (AMSDA)

The Tri-National Agricultural Accord represents a twenty-nine year commitment among the senior state and provincial agricultural officials of Canada, the United States, and Mexico to work together collaboratively on agricultural trade and development issues. During this year’s virtual gathering, October 20-22, delegates will discuss and make official statements on implementation of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) and state and provincial response to COVID-19.
