The National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA) is pleased to announce the hiring of Rebecca Barnett as Manager, Public Policy. Barnett will support the mission of NASDA as American agriculture responds and recovers to COVID-19. Rebecca’s first day is today, July 20.
“I am ready to get my hands dirty as state agriculture officials work tirelessly to help agriculture recover from COVID-19,” said Barnett. “I will use my rural background to advance policy and regulations that build a more resilient rural America.”
Barnett recently achieved her Master of Agribusiness from Texas A&M University. She has served in the office of U.S. Representative John Carter and the California State Assembly, as well as the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service. Rebecca received her Bachelor of Science from University of California, Davis in Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems with an emphasis in economics and policy. She is the fifth generation to grow up in a small rural agricultural area in Northern California.
