USDA-NASS Associate Administrator Kevin Barnes spoke to NASDA staff, members and state department of agriculture staff on how we can be better champions for racial equity in the agriculture community.
Barnes challenged us to to realize “we’re in this together,” and that “walking with others” benefits everyone. Kevin shared the story of his father, life growing up on the farm and the opportunities he’s had working for USDA-NASS for almost 40 years. He ended with reminding that there’s always room to pull up another seat at the table working in agriculture.
