On Tuesday, the USDA announced two different risk management programs for hemp producers. The pilot program with Multi-Peril Crop Insurance (MPCI) provides coverage against lost yield on hemp grown for fiber, grain or CBD and is offered in select counties of 21 states. The Noninsured Crop Disaster Assistance Program (NAP) covers losses associated with lower yield, destroyed crops or prevent planting to all those with no federal crop insurance program available.
