Biography

Susan Simpkins joined NASDA in December 2023. In her current role as director of trade shows, she leads the execution of NASDA’s A Taste of the States pavilions in support of NASDA’s cooperative agreements with USDA Foreign Agricultural Service, facilitating export opportunities for small and medium-sized U.S. food and agriculture companies. Susan comes to NASDA with a diverse career background including roles as stage manager for professional theatres in the D.C. area, an operations director for the association management company MCI USA, and most recently an event planner for Capital One. Susan earned a bachelor’s degree in business with honors in theatre from Wake Forest University. Susan is from Richmond, Virginia, and outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family and friends and volunteering with a local animal rescue group.
