Biography
Derrek Miller joined NASDA in 2025, where he leads strategic marketing and outreach for the organization’s international trade programs and serves as country lead for the United Kingdom and India. His work supports USDA’s Market Access Program and Regional Agricultural Promotion Program, advancing visibility, stakeholder engagement and global positioning for U.S. food and agriculture.
Prior to NASDA, Derrek led marketing communications and industry relations for the National Restaurant Association. He later served as executive director of a culinary nonprofit, where he expanded farm-to-school programming nationwide, promoted local food systems and developed an award-winning food and beverage initiative for United Airlines’ Polaris initiative. He also coordinated disaster relief efforts with Humanitarian Chef José Andrés and World Central Kitchen. Earlier in his career, he was director of the U.S. Department of State Foreign Press Center (Midwest region) and assistant press secretary for the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs & Special Events. Derrek is from Chicago, Illinois, and enjoys hiking and kayaking during his free time.
