Biography

Gene Pierce joined NASDA in June of 2025.  In his role as associate director for the Mountain West region, he supports the NASDA’s NASS Program. He came from the USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service, where he worked for 27 years. Gene worked in Texas, Oregon, Kansas and the Northwest Regional offices, and has served as the NASDA coordinator for NASS during the last 17 years. Gene attended the Southwest Texas State University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Agri-Business Management. Gene is from Sinton TX and enjoys fishing, duck hunting and spending time with the kids teaching them woodworking. During the late summer his favorite activity is sitting on the tractor in a hazelnut orchard.
