The Arkansas Department of Agriculture is seeking candidates for the State Veterinarian position in Pulaski County/Little Rock.
Candidates must hold a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree, be currently licensed in Arkansas, and have at least seven years of experience diagnosing and managing animal diseases in settings such as universities, government, industry, or private practice involving livestock and poultry. The role requires knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations affecting animal health programs, as well as familiarity with the livestock and poultry industries—including dairy, beef, swine, poultry, sheep, goats, equine and aquaculture—and the practice of veterinary medicine for companion animals. Applicants must be able to advise and provide leadership on animal health issues, interpret laws and regulations impacting animal health programs, and build effective working relationships with state and federal officials and the public.
