My internship with NASDA this summer and fall has been exceptional. NASDA granted me the opportunity to gain more knowledge and experience than I imagined could be offered by one internship. When I first began this internship, I was not sure what to expect, mostly because I did not realize the breadth of the communications field. However after my first week, I quickly learned how much thought and effort go into all aspects of a communications position.

During my five months with NASDA, I gained an array of hands-on experiences – from drafting newsletters and social media posts to designing digital graphics – that I know will take me far in any career path I pursue after I graduate from Tarleton State University in May. Even though my internship was remote-based, I was still able to meet many wonderful people. Being a part of such a positive environment showed me what a healthy work environment is supposed to look like and it made the internship all the more enjoyable. One of my favorite parts of the internship was being able to channel my creativity to make graphics and other content for the 2024 Annual Meeting. It was amazing to contribute to such a prominent event.

I am grateful that NASDA chose me as their summer communications intern and I cannot thank them enough for the knowledge, experience and connections I gained from this fantastic opportunity.
