The experience I gained interning with NASDA has been invaluable. NASDA genuinely values its interns, not only as contributors but as learners. Throughout my time here, NASDA staff encouraged me to ask questions, take on challenges and develop new skills. As I complete my master’s degree at Abilene Christian University, NASDA helped me integrate theory into praxis, and it’s been exciting to see how my education translates into real-world settings.
During my time with NASDA, I had the opportunity to participate in and contribute to a variety of projects, including the 2025 Winter Policy Conference, drafting and editing press releases, updating the website, creating social media content and so much more. Being involved with these initiatives allowed me to develop stronger professional writing skills, learn how to adapt messaging for different platforms and gain a deeper understanding of agricultural policy.
I’m incredibly grateful to NASDA Communications Director Sarah Grace Fowler and Communications Manager Lauren Zajicek for the opportunity to join the communications team, even if it was just for a short time! One of my favorite projects was designing social media graphics and gaining hands-on experience with graphic design platforms like InDesign and Canva.
Thank you to everyone at NASDA for making this an unforgettable experience that has shaped both my professional growth and my passion for agricultural communication. The work you do is incredibly important and meaningful, and I’m proud to have been a part of it!
