During NASDA’s 2024 Annual Meeting in Indianapolis, college students from the NASDA Foundation’s Next Generation Program had the chance to connect with leaders from the National Agricultural Statistics Service. Fourteen students from nine universities met with NASS Administrator Joe Parsons, Indiana State Statistician Nathanial Warenski, Western Field Operations Director King Whetstone and NASDA’s Charlie Ingram and Josh King. They discussed the partnership between NASDA and NASS, the key role of enumerators in collecting farm data and the many career opportunities at both organizations.

Since its launch in 2015, the NASDA Foundation’s Next Generation Program has allowed students to explore careers in agriculture. Participants meet with industry professionals and state and national leaders to learn more about agricultural and food systems. Through this program, NASDA is dedicated to supporting future agricultural leaders. Learn more here: NASDA Next Generation Program.
