David Headley, a NASDA field supervisor from Illinois, recently attended the 2025 NASDA Winter Policy Conference in Washington, D.C.. He met with NASDA members and stakeholders, joined regional meetings, and attended discussions on key agricultural issues.

One highlight was the NASDA-NASS Partnership Session, where NASS Administrator Joe Parsons and Census and Survey Division Director Dr. Jody McDaniel, shared efforts to modernize data collection and improve efficiency to better serve the agricultural industry.

Rick Mueller, head of the NASS Spatial Analysis Research Section, showcased how satellite imagery and mapping technology help track crops, estimate acreage, and forecast yields, making agricultural data more accurate and accessible in real time.

Since 1972, the NASDA-NASS partnership has combined new technology with the expertise of 2,000+ NASDA enumerators to provide high-quality agricultural data. The conference underscored the value of modernization while recognizing the critical role of field enumerators in delivering accurate, reliable information to farmers, businesses, and policymaker.
