Press Release
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: February 24, 2025
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The National Association of State Departments of Agriculture Foundation is excited to host the 2025 NASDA Next Generation program at the 2025 NASDA winter policy conference in Washington, D.C., Feb. 24-26. This program offers college students a unique opportunity to explore agricultural policy and industry, build professional connections and engage in interactive state and federal policy discussions.
Since its launch in 2015, NASDA’s Next Generation Program has connected students directly with leaders who represent state departments of agriculture across the country. Through hands-on activities, the initiative educates participants on NASDA’s role as a convener and advocate for states, while also examining the broader agricultural policy landscape. Since its inception, more than 125 students from across the nation have taken part in the program.
This year’s cohort will join policymakers and industry leaders in Washington, D.C., where they will have the opportunity to network with industry leaders, attend policy meetings and share their career motivations during introductory sessions with the state members.
“Investing in the next generation of agricultural leaders is critical to ensuring a strong future of our food and farming systems,” NASDA Foundation Senior Director Chris Jones said. “The NASDA Foundation and its members are excited to welcome this year’s students, and we look forward to the fresh perspectives and enthusiasm they will bring to the table.”
