Bryan Scoresby began as director of the Alaska Division of Agriculture in February 2023. He came to Alaska in 1992 as district director of the Farm Service Agency. He then worked in the mortgage finance business for almost 22 years in Alaska, helping homeowners throughout the state and country.
Scoresby was appointed Alaska State Executive Director of the Farm Service Agency by the Trump Administration in 2017. Working with the farmers, ranchers and producers in Alaska every day has been his dream and goal for the past 30 years.
Bryan has a bachelor’s degree in agricultural education from Utah State University and a master’s degree in agribusiness management from Brigham Young University. He and his wife raise a very large garden, have produce to enjoy, store against the season, share with family and friends and sell. He buys dairy calves, feeds them to market size and sells butcher ready beef to fill the freezer and sell. He and his wife live in Palmer where they raised five children and now have 16 grandchildren.
