NASDA recently hosted a training workshop in Sioux City, Iowa, for our Northern Plains and Upper Midwest pilot regions. This event brought together new coaches, managers, trainers and supervisors to help them get ready for their roles within NASDA’s updated management structure.
The workshop focused on teamwork, supporting enumerators in the field and improving communication and data collection strategies. Participants shared best practices, discussed challenges faced and learned from the experiences of NASDA’s field teams.
Attendees also went on an agricultural operation tour at the AGP Processing Facility to see firsthand how NASS data is used in the agriculture industry. Additionally, the training included a panel discussion featuring Grant Menke, Deputy Secretary of the Iowa Department of Agriculture, and John Gottula, SAS Systems, who explained how states and industries use NASS data to make important decisions.
This workshop reinforced NASDA’s commitment to building strong leaders for the NASDA-NASS agricultural data program. The partnership between NASDA and NASS is essential as our regional and HQ teams work together toward our strategic goals. The insights from this workshop will help regions across the country smoothly transition to the new management structure in the years to come.
