Each year, Congress enacts annual appropriations measures to fund government activities for the year. These measures begin as a series of twelve different spending bills that fund groups of related agencies.
NASDA members take the financial security of rural communities seriously and strives to responsibly fund federal programs necessary to ensure financial stability of those constituents. Additionally, as co-regulators of a myriad of programs from food safety to pesticides to label guarantees and more, states require adequate funding to carry out federal tasks. Among the bills of most interest to NASDA are the Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, which funds USDA and FDA, and the Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, which funds EPA.
