The Missouri Department of Agriculture is dedicated to the promotion and protection of the state’s agriculture industry, the backbone of Missouri’s economy. The Department implements agriculture policy set by the Missouri legislature and the state’s Governor.
MDA houses five divisions that work each day to connect farmers with consumers:
- Agriculture Business Development
- Animal Health
- Grain Inspection & Warehousing
- Plant Industries
- Weights, Measures & Consumer Protection
In addition, four boards and commissions fall under the Department:
- Missouri State Fair
- Missouri State Milk Board
- Missouri Wine & Grape Board
- Missouri Agricultural & Small Business Development Authority
