The Tennessee Department of Agriculture Public Affairs Division is seeking candidates for the Assistant Commissioner of Public Affairs position.
The Assistant Commissioner for Public Affairs oversees internal and external communications and provides administrative support for media relations, policy development, and all agency programs. This individual also supervises the public relations team, administers the Tennessee Agricultural Museum and works with Tennessee’s Century Farm Program. Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: supervision of staff, development of messaging specific to department initiatives and responses to media and citizen inquiries, management of social media platforms and long-range strategic planning to further the objectives of the department through public outreach.
