I am grateful for the opportunity to have interned for NASDA as an operations intern. My experience was invaluable, insightful and extremely worthwhile.
As an undergraduate in my senior year studying international affairs, I had previous work and educational experience relating to water security, food security and climate change; however, I did not have a background that was well-versed in the agricultural sector. My time at NASDA taught me much about agricultural policy, the importance of international trade and the interconnectedness of the agricultural community. My role mainly focused on assisting NASDA with various financial and coordination projects. Through these tasks I was able to improve my communication and multi-tasking skills and my proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
In meetings, it was often said that the NASDA staff is a family, and this is an accurate statement based on my experience. Everyone was nothing but kind, welcoming and willing to help everyone with whatever questions and interests anyone may have had. I appreciate everyone at NASDA for making my internship the best experience possible and I look forward to seeing NASDA continue to grow and prosper.
