Press Release –

Arlington, VA, USA

The National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA) is pleased to announce the promotion of Max Moncaster as Director, Public Policy. Moncaster will serve as head of NASDA’s public policy department and will lead strategic policy engagement for the organization.

“States and territories deliver critical support and services for agricultural producers and consumers across the country,” said Moncaster. “From leading COVID-19 response efforts to promoting U.S. products abroad, I am proud of the work NASDA members and their staff do day-in, and day-out. I am excited to continue NASDA’s mission of engaging with Congress and the administration to secure better policy outcomes for producers and rural communities.”

Prior to joining NASDA last July, Moncaster served as the Director of Policy Communications at the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association (NCBA). He has served in policy advocacy roles in the public and private sectors since 2014.

Moncaster’s promotion comes at the departure of Aline DeLucia, Senior Director, Public Policy. Her last day with the organization is June 19.

NASDA is a nonpartisan, nonprofit association which represents the elected and appointed commissioners, secretaries, and directors of the departments of agriculture in all fifty states and four U.S. territories. To learn more about NASDA, please visit www.nasda.org.
