RFSI vs. RFBC
The Regional Food Business Centers (RFBCs) and Resilient Food Systems Infrastructure Program (RFSI) are intended to support food and agricultural communities and address lingering gaps in local and regional food supply chains. As both programs launch applications for funding this year, the USDA has provided a side-by-side comparison to assist producers and food business owners determine which grant program(s) they may be eligible for. While the Northeast RFBC will launch funding streams for the business builder award in late 2024 – early 2025, the timeline for RFSI Requests for Applications (RFAs) vary by state, with the USDA maintaining a repository of RFSI timelines by state.
